After reading this poem it made me remember the days I was young and niave. The summer was only about having fun and no reading was required. It reminds me of when me and my cousin had to spend a week together at camp. I remember we had no rules, snack time where we could eat all the sweets without paying, and the free time of unlimited activities. We run around care free and have a good time running swim and go on the waterslide and going to make a campfire with our hikinig group. Then our parents came a week later to crash the party and take us back home on a 3 hour trip back to Georgia. This is what this poem means to me.

Many people disprove of adding fluoride in drinking water because it can have harmful health effects such as dental fluorosis and bone cancer. These 2 things can occur from extensive intake of fluoride. Dental fluorosis is an irreversible condition caused by excessive ingestion of fluoride during the tooth forming years. It is the first visible sign that a child has been overexposed to fluoride. A study at the Harvard School of Dental Heath found that young boys exposed to fluoridated tap water from age 5-10 suffered an increased risk of bone cancer. My position on putting fluoride in tap water would be against it. This is because most health departments say that bad effects mostly occurs in young boys and they are the most vulnerable to getting dental fluorosis and bone cancer. I am saying this because I am a boy and it could affect me it fluoride was put into Georgia’s tap water. Studies say that bone cancer survivors have amputated limbs. Even though bone cancer is rare no boy is willing to take the risk of getting it. Dental fluorosis leaves a permanent effect on your tooth cells and damages your teeth and gums. I do not want anyone to put fluoride in my drinking water. Before fluoride could be widely used in toothpaste and mouthwash scientists had to find out that the fluoride ion is doing the work and it can be part of a compound as long as its available in a solution. Subsequent research determined that water fluoride levels below 1 ppm prevent decay without the tooth staining. So, scientists had to find out how to put 1 ppm of fluoride in a compound and have it available in a solution and not damage teeth. Perhaps because of this flexibility, separate classes of compounds have come up as fluoride sources for drinking water and for toothpaste. The side effects of putting fluoride in drinking water that concern me most is dental fluorosis and bone cancer which both happen when your fluoride intake is very high.(Look at first paragraph for info on these health concerns)
